A Fresh New Look, and Some Summer Tree Care to Go With It
The weather is finally warming up, the days are getting longer, and I have some exciting news to share. My brand new website is officially live, complete with a fresh new logo and a whole new look.
This has been a long time coming, and I could not be more proud of how it turned out. The new site reflects the care I put into every job, and it makes it easier than ever for you to learn about my services, get to know my background, and reach out when you need help with your trees. Take a look around and make yourself at home.
And since summer is right around the corner, I thought I would share a few quick tips to keep your trees healthy through the warm, dry months ahead.
Quick Tips for the Season Ahead
Water deep, not shallow
Trees drink differently than lawns; they want water that reaches deep down to the roots, not quick surface sprinkles. If you water by hand, a long slow soak does the trick. If you are on a drip system, let it run longer and remember that emitters belong out near the edge of the canopy, not up against the trunk.
Mulch is your friend
A two to three inch layer of mulch around the base helps the soil hold moisture and stay cool. Just keep it from piling up against the trunk, since trees like a little breathing room.
Watch the weight on those branches
All that lush spring growth adds real weight to limbs, and weak or overextended branches can become a hazard once summer storms roll through. If you have got branches hanging over your home, driveway, or walkways, now is a good time to have them looked at.
Keep an eye out for trouble
A quick walk around your yard every now and then goes a long way. Look for dead limbs, cracked branches, or any signs of stress or disease so small problems can be caught before they turn into big ones.
